DX3 is a vector graphics library written in AS3 that integrates 3D, pseudo-3D and 2D vector graphics techniques.

It allows 3D objects (mesh-based) and pseudo-3D objects (sprite-sheet / dynamically drawn) to be manipulated as if they were flat 2D objects at several points in the render pipeline. 2D transformations, masking and effects can be applied as they normally would with display objects in Flash. Similarly, 2D objects can be manipulated as if in a 3D environment.

It is vector wherever possible, so accurate outlines are easily applied to 3D meshes. Shading in DX3 usually consists of flat areas of colour, which gives it a somewhat unique appearance when compared with many other 3D graphics libraries.
